Mia Hamm Protege? Brittanie's First Soccer Game

We signed Brittanie up to play on our local Star soccer team yesterday, and today, she played her first game. I'm not sure how Mia Hamm started her soccer career, but if it involved several sobbing jaunts to mom and dad for comfort, then we have a super star in the making. Brittanie even got to try being goalie for a little while (coach thought less running around might reduce the risk of another "injury"). She thought it was pretty cool that she just had to hang out in front of the net. No one informed her that the goalie tried to "stop" the ball from going in the net. We'll work on that this week. Towards the end of the match I started to wonder if Brittanie would want to play again. Luckily there were juice boxes and cookies at the end of game. I guess soccer is pretty cool after all.

Christmas 2007

Due to technical difficulties we have no pictures of Christmas--yet. Our card some how got deleted and we are getting copies of Christmas pictures from any family members who will take pity on us. We do, however, have some very entertaining video of extreme sledding in Wayan where my neck was sore for 3 days after Scott and my brother-in-law assured me it would be worth the ride! Despite no photographic evidence of Christmas, we had a wonderful holiday surrounded by family--and WAY too much food! Brittanie & Nate had a blast playing with their cousins. We were able to visit a few friends along the way. We must thank the Briscoe's for hosting an unforgettable Wii tournament that left us sore for days! You are amazing friends and we look forward to the next trampoline challenge! Sometimes I wonder what we did to have such awesome friends and family but we sure love you all. We wish you all a very Happy New Year! (Maybe my next post will include Christmas reenactment pictures...so stay tuned!)
